KYOCERA CELEBRATES 25 YEARS PRODUCING ADVANCED CERAMIC CUTLERY

Costa Mesa, CA (September 1, 2009) - Kyocera is celebrating its 25 years of manufacturing advanced ceramic kitchen knives, with over 5.3 million knives sold to date. After a quarter century spent continuously enhancing the material and design of ceramic blades, Kyocera has virtually perfected its advanced ceramic knives. Due to the extreme hardness of advanced ceramic materials, the blades maintain their sharp edge much longer than steel blades. Ceramic blades never corrode or transfer metal ions so flavors are not altered and food remains fresh. The ergonomic handles and light weight of the knives reduce fatigue and simplify repetitive food preparation. These unique characteristics have contributed to the growing popularity of Kyocera's ceramic knives in recent years, with sales extending throughout 35 countries in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Kyocera’s advanced ceramic knives will soon complete a four-month exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. The knives are displayed in the exhibit section labeled “High Tech Design”, which examines advances in ceramic technology.

To celebrate the 25-year mark, Kyocera is offering one of its top sellers, the Revolution 5.5” Santoku Knife at a special commemorative price of just $50 (regularly $79.95).  This popular knife comes in a special anniversary gift box.  Supplies are limited.
